PDP Urges Nigerians to Keep Hope Alive, Embrace Peace on Independence Anniversary
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and committed to peace, unity and national development as the country celebrates its 66th Independence Anniversary.
In a statement issued on Thursday by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Jungudo Mohammed, the PDP acknowledged that Nigeria has yet to reach its desired level of development but urged citizens not to lose hope in the country’s future.
The party noted that Nigeria remains blessed with abundant human and natural resources capable of driving sustainable national growth and development.
The PDP also called on Nigerians to reject violence and corruption, urging citizens to place the national interest above personal, ethnic and sectional considerations.
According to the party, collective efforts are needed to build a nation where young Nigerians can pursue their aspirations with confidence and renewed hope.
“The PDP acknowledges that, as a nation and as a people, we are not yet where we aspire to be. However, we must not despair. The future of Nigeria remains bright, and our collective hope must remain stronger than our present challenges,” the statement said.
The party urged Nigerians to use the anniversary as an opportunity to reflect on the country’s journey, strengthen national unity and renew their commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous Nigeria.
